The Best Punishment for Misbehaving Kids!
My dad would always tell us to go in the backyard and pick up ALL the sticks-little and big. He never liked to mow over any sticks (or rocks, for that matter). So, today, since it is so beautiful here (60 degrees), the kids and I spent a little time outside, playing. I decided, while James was detained in his swing, to pick up any sticks I saw. James likes to pick up every little thing and put it in his mouth-this would include sticks, rocks, leaves, etc. Before I knew it, my little bucket was FULL and I hadn't even gotten past our tree, which is the "halfway mark" in our backyard. So, now I know what to do when Clara is acting naughty.

Oh Boy! He's ONE!
We celebrated James' birthday on Sunday. We were planning on actually celebrating it on Saturday (his actual birthday), but it snowed all day. Our one day of snow. It all melted by Sunday.
Dale's New Toy!
Dale has been wanting a "smaller" camera, so that he can carry it around easier than our "Big" Canon Rebel XT. (Pictured below.) I love it because it's just awesome. However, it is pretty big when you are carrying it around, with children, at the zoo.So, we bought this one (Canon Power Shot SX120) on Saturday. He LOVES it! He kept talking about how it has a 10x optical zoom!!! I have no idea what that means except that it takes REALLY good pictures. Funny thing! We almost got something smaller (a "Coolpix"), but this was a "return" that we purchased from our Sam's Club. Plus, it was discounted because it was a return. BONUS!! There was nothing wrong with it at all. I talked him into getting this one. Am I good or am I good?!

Eat at Joe's!
Funny thing, while we were driving to see Faith and John, we drove through Houston during rush hour. Needless to say, I saw way too many Joe's Crab Shacks. I turned to Dale and said, "I WILL NOT eat there EVER!"
While we were at Kemah Boardwalk, I caved!-only because "The Red Sushi" wasn't opened, and we were all starving! It was soooo good! You really have to "Eat at Joe's"!
John was a little caught off guard after I took his picture. Great action shot! There is definitely a sense of hunger in his emotions.Stop looking at the the "Corona"! I know you are looking at it! Try to focus on the little girl behind the beer. Clara and her infamous Mac-n-Cheese!James, my butter ball, with some french fries on him. He is too cute!Riddle: What do you get when you take Dale to Joe's Crab Shack?Answer: A whole lot of trouble! I just can't take him anywhere!
A Day at Kemah
We spent some time at Kemah Boardwalk-a hidden treasure when you go to Texas. We had so much fun with John and Faith. Here are some pictures of the day's event.
"Where to start?" was our first impression when we arrived. Or was it, "CRAP! We so didn't bring enough money!"I love carousels! This was a two-story one. I don't think I have ever seen one like this.John was a bad kid this year, so Santa put him in Jail! It was nice of Dale to lend him a file. You just might be awhile.Right next door, Dale was up to no good. Needless to say, I don't think he's setting a good example for his kids. When Dale finally came to, he spotted his truck.
And yet, he got a warning for a DUI!Just kidding! Here is another picture of a really nice old car.Although, I think Faith should have gotten arrested for a "Fashion Don't". Silly Faith! Clara had fun trying to steer her boat. She actually got it through the tunnel. We decided to see the sights on the train. We had fun on he little train!Don't mess with Clara. She's a tough girl! I don't know what's crazier, going to Kemah in December or standing in the middle of the fountains of Kemah in December.Faith, Autumn, and John got their characters done by a really awesome artist. It turned out really good. In one of the shops, they had this really tall giraffe. He was so awesome, I had to get a picture of him with Clara and Dale.Clara really wanted this Snowman, but how in the world were we going to get him back home in one piece. Still a giant snowman is pretty "cool"!

Trip to Houston
We went to visit Dale's sister, who recently moved to Texas. While we were there, we went to the beach in Galveston. It was the first time I'd ever been to a beach. With the recent hurricane, this hotel had some major damage that you could see from a couple of miles away.I made sure Dale took pictures. Needless to say that these are just few that you'll get to see of me.A little history about the "Sea Wall".Here is Dale's sister Faith and her little "acorn" Autumn. What kind of trip to the beach would it be if we didn't collect seashells. Above us was a gift shop. The old cement beams used to hold it up, but now they have the newer beams. I have never seen so many houses and buildings that were held up by "stilts". Really neat, but kinda scary--at least for me.
