Abbie's Portraits

I have been having a hard time loading these up. So, here are the two I did get uploaded. I also realized that I still need to upload Clara's 6 year old birthday pics. I will be doing that soon!

My little "little girl".

Big Brother and Big Sister

For being a 2 year old, James did really well when he visited us in the hospital. There isn't much to do except get into mischief. But as you can see, even a mischief maker can take a nap with baby sister now and then.On the other hand, big sister was enthralled with baby sister. Did I mention before that she LOVES to hold Abbie?!She especially loves it when Abbie looks at her and holds Clara's fingers.

Clean House

Side Note: Its always feels good when you can get the house cleaned, laundry put away and the dishes done.
Now, if I can just get the bathroom clean.

July 6th, 2011 Still in the Hospital

We stayed on the hospital for 2 days. While we were there, we were busy with visits and phone calls. Dale fell short of talking to his family due to people coming and visiting (and we couldn't make long distant phone calls). It was actually quite relaxing, with James and Clara staying at my parents' house. Dale and I got to bond with Abbie. She was very easy to handle. Such a good baby! She mostly slept and ate. Typical, I guess.

July 5th, 2011 Arriving at the Hospital

We arrived at Wesley Medical Center at 8 a.m. After filling out the paperwork, we were showed to our room, where they began to hook me up. Abbie kept moving around, so they had to lay me on my side to get her heartbeat. We weren't able to go right in to surgery, so down time was consumed with TV.
By 10:23 a.m., they were inserting the epidural. This is the usual position for me at this time, grasping Dale's hand and not trying to cry.Lovely, isn't it?!Insert knife at 10:51 a.m.11:03 a.m. Meet Abigail ("Abbie") Elaine Pratt.
She weighed 7 lbs., 12 oz., and was 19 inches long.Love the hat!She didn't stop crying until we got back to the room.Heavily Drugged!Doc Feuille, "C-Section King".Waiting for the audience to leave so I could feed this poor thing. We were finally moved upstairs to the postpartum rooms, and big sister came. Clara has been such a great big sister! She LOVES to hold her ALL the time. James and Clara figured out that Abbie is ticklish on her little feet.
The torturing begins!

4th of July

We had a flag raising ceremony and a breakfast with our ward on the 4th. My parents, Charlie & Kathleen, and Mike & Lydia came down to eat breakfast with us.
Later on while we were waiting to shoot off fireworks, Nathan had his "Smash Cake" session with his mom. We all got a kick out of it!Kathleen finished the crotchet baby blanket for Abbie. Isn't it beautiful?!Once he was cleaned up and rested, Nathan joined his cousins on the couch for some storybook time with Grandpa Choo Choo. They had a lot of fun!It was so hot that day. So, I didn't take any pictures of the fireworks. The boys (Dale, Charlie, and Daniel) were the piros for the night and did a great job!

Sunday Dinner

This is the normal setting on Sunday, except Charlie and Kathleen were visiting from Texas.
We really enjoyed having them here.
Clara was dressed up in her festive wear and showing off her blue, press-on nails.
After dinner, depending on the weather, we usually take a walk around the block.

2 Days Left

Two days left until they cut me open. Two days left until the stress begins. Two days left until we are outnumbered. Two day left until I can breathe again. Two days left.

Two days left until James and Clara become "older siblings". Two days left until we meet this "little stinker". Two days left until our lives change.
Two days, just two.
